Botania

about

The Earth slowly awakens from the sleep, as waves are rocking off shores of the massive supercontinent Laurussia. The immense Panthalassa waters are filled with shell-like ammonites, bold survivors of the distant past. A group of strange, arachnomorhic creatures, the Trilobites, slowly moved across the seabed in search for food. Rays of irradiating sun beamed through the surface of the water and onto the depths of Paleotethys, reflecting off a heavy plated armor of a giant sea fish, the Dunkleosteous. One sea scorpion crawled into the shallows of the reef only to witness a magnificent moss forest that’s been slowly claiming the land, consuming it with its lush colors.

Plants and swamps have now made their way deep into the supermassive, ancient continent of Gondwana. A terrifying sight suddenly appears in the swamp – a few giant dragonflies, Meganeuras, swarmed down to the ground level, buzzing around the primitive plants in search for smaller insects. Through the fumes across the floodplains inside the Lepidodendron forests, two huge, 2 feet long Megarachne adults emerge from the water, leaving the spidery prints on the moist ground. The continent is still largely unpopulated by animal life. Yet, a few Eryopses bravely and with curiosity explored the marshes, heralding the coming Age of the earthly beasts.
